HOME! That’s right, we are home! I’m not going to lie, it’s been HARD. Liam’s in a good amount of pain still obviously but we are staying on top of his pain medicine. We along with the doctors felt comfortable going home and continuing recovery at home. We’ve gone through this many times before so his surgeon trusts us to know when/if he needs to go back to the hospital. Liam is on a liquid diet for a few weeks which has been hard. He’s not been “eating” or drinking much at all, which we expected. We are doing everything we can to keep him hydrated so he does not have to go back to the hospital. Luckily we got him to drink a protein shake this evening 🙌🏼 He also will eat a little bit of ice cream at a time which is great. They did repair his cleft uvula during surgery as well so swallowing just isn’t a thing right now for him which is understandable.

Liam’s surgery was 5 hours long. Waking up out of anesthesia was hard on top of the pain he was in. He had a rough night pain wise but is doing very well under the circumstances. He’s not drinking much but we expected that. He is very swollen. It’s extremely hard and painful for him to swallow or talk. But he’s so brave and strong. We are so proud of him! He is truly the strongest little boy 🖤

Quick Liam update! Surgery was a success. He’s in a lot of pain but overall doing okay. He’s even taken some little sips of apple juice! Praying we can keep the pain under control for a smooth night 🙏🏼

If you believe in the power of prayer, please pray for Liam. Tomorrow we will be sending our little guy into his 9th surgery.. this one is a big one. It’s another palate repair surgery. If you’ve been around for awhile you know that Liam’s first palate repair was HARD. We were in the hospital for a month. I’ve dreaded this day for so long. We knew it had to happen but I am absolutely terrified. Nothing will ever prepare you for this, no matter how many times you’ve been through it. This will be hard on all of us but especially Liam. He’s so brave and he will come out stronger! 🖤
